Shiatsu Massage
Shiatsu Massage was part of my training at OCOM, and I always enjoy both giving and receiving this form of massage. Shiatsu is a full-body massage that is done with comfortable clothing on. No oils or lotions are used. It tends to be a more gentle form of massage; however, the impact can be profound. Acupressure is used to stimulate the energetic pathways or meridians of the body and Qi/Ki (a kind of life force energy) is encouraged to flow harmoniously. It can be deeply relaxing and enjoyable, increasing flexibility and reducing pain. Shiatsu can be beneficial for musculoskeletal pain as well as other health concerns including irritable bowel syndrome, painful periods, menopause and insomnia. I offer Shiatsu Massage with or without Acupuncture. Here is a great article on Shiatsu Massage: http://www.sheknows.com/health-and-wellness/articles/812241/healing-with-shiatsu-massage |
